Updated on 10/28/25: British Columbia is answering phone calls and issuing oversize load permits.
Due to a job action in British Columbia, there’s a backlog of oversize/overweight and superload permits that the Provence is slowly processing.
According to the Provence, there are no timelines as to how long it will take to catch up on permit processing.
At this time, oversize load permit applications and requests are not being taken by home, and are being processed by email only. The turnaround time for a basic single trip permit could be 24 hours or more. Self issue permits are not currently being processed.
WCS Permits & Pilot Cars is helping Canadian customers process permits by communicating directly with the Provence, but the turnaround times are not certain. WCS is aware of the parameters required to help speed up the permit turnaround process, including making sure all customer load information is complete at the time of submission.
