Company History

WCS Permits & Pilot Cars has grown into the largest, privately-owned oversize/overweight permit company in the United States and Canada. History of WCS Permits

It all started in 1998 when owner, Wes Mollno decided to start a small Southern California-based pilot car and oversize permit service. After a few short years of providing pilot car dispatch and oversize load permits in California and the Western US, the company further expanded its reach.

Soon, WCS Permits & Pilot Cars became a nationwide company handling super load permits, pilot car dispatching, trip & fuel permits, route surveys and equipment sales in addition to the everyday workload of oversize load permits.

Fast forward almost 20 years and WCS is North America’s oversize load authority with five offices nationwide, including one in Los Angeles, California, two Ohio locations, New York and Tennessee, and is a proud employer of 60 plus permit agents averaging over 10 years of experience. In more recent years, WCS’ Los Angeles headquarters constructed a full-service equipment and sign shop. Over-dimensional signage, including vinyl, mesh and aluminum signs, truck decals and other truck safety equipment is shipped out daily to web store and permit customers.

WCS takes pride in being an industry technology leader. The company designed and published the Permit Accompaniments App, available on the App Store and Google Play, which has nearly 10,000 downloads. In early 2017, a paid version of the app was released, which included city and county accompaniments. WCS also developed the Oversize Load Assistant, an online oversize/overweight permit manual program where drivers and dispatchers can access important information on permit regulations including oversize dimensions, oversize load travel curfews, pilot car requirements and more. WCS Permits’ online permit portal gives customers access to their permits 24/7 via the company’s online program, WCS online permit portal
