AR to Cease Issuing Permits as Rain Continues
The state of Arkansas is preparing for possible flooded routes due to the heavy rain, and has ceased issuing permits to oversize loads traveling through the state.

Although, the state did say their Highways Permit division will issue permits for oversize loads with an origin and destination in Arkansas.
“Provided we can identify a safe route; we will continue issuing permits for those oversize loads with an origin or destination in Arkansas,” they wrote online.
The only state to state oversize load permits that will be issued, include:
  • TN (40/55) to MO (55)
  • MO (55) to TN (40/55)
  • MS (82) to TX
  • MS (82) to LA
  • TX to MS (82)
  • TX to TN
  • TN to TX
  • LA to MS (82)

More rain is forecast this week in much of the central and southern U.S., which will make conditions worse in areas already experiencing record-breaking floods.
