Wisconsin Flooding Closures and Restrictions

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation permit unit issued a transportation notice as a result of the current flooding in Southwest Wisconsin. Wisconsin Flooding Closures and Restrictions

The notice says that carriers and drivers, including oversize loads, should take caution and check 511wi.gov to check for current system closures and restrictions prior to departure.

According to the notice, many regions of the state have been greatly affected by recent storms and high water. Many bridges and roads are closed and some weight restrictions are in place. There may also be some local systems affected by the storm, which may not be published on 511wi.gov, so do be aware of unpublished or unexpected delays or closures. 

More thunderstorms and severe weather are predicted for the area. 

According to the Associated Press, areas of Minnesota are also greatly affected by the heavy rain, and both areas have seen several hundred evacuations.
