New York

NYS Department of Transportation – Hours of Service Relief Order
Due to the compounding impacts of a series of winter storms in combination with an extended period of below normal temperatures and issues on supply logistics and delivery of vital heating and transportation fuels to homes, businesses, and power plants, the NYS Department of Transportation has provided limited hours of service relief in order to ensure the adequate supply and delivery of vital heating, power plant, and transportation fuels throughout the State.
 
The hours of service relief order can be found here. It is effective beginning Wednesday, February 17, 2021 and continuing through March 1, 2021 unless extended.
 
Port Authority of New York & New Jersey
Due to inclement weather expected to impact the region, all container terminals, depots, & East Coast CES will be CLOSED Thursday, February 18, 2021.

 

Pennsylvania

Due to Winter Storm Viola Pennsylvania is alerting the industry to potential commercial vehicle restrictions if conditions warrant.
 
Tier 1 Vehicle Restrictions are planned on the following roadways if needed:
 
Beginning at 1:00 a.m., Thursday, February 18:
  • I-283: PA Turnpike to I-83
  • I-99: PA Turnpike to I-80
  • I-81: MD Line to I-78
  • I-70: PA Turnpike to MD Line
  • I-83: MD Line to I-81
  • PA 66 Turnpike: US 119 / I-70 to US 22 / Blairsville
  • I-76 PA Turnpike: Cranberry to Valley Forge
Beginning at 4:00 a.m., Thursday, February 18:
  • PA 33: I-78 to I-80
  • I-78: I-81 to NJ Line
  • US 22: I-78 to New Jersey State Line
  • I-80: I-99 to NJ Line
  • I-81: I-78 to I-84
  • I-84: I-81 to NY Line
  • I-380: I-80 to I-81
  • I-95 PA Turnpike: I-276 to NJ line
  • I-276 PA Turnpike: Valley Forge to I-95 connector
  • I-476 PA Turnpike: Mid County to Clarks Summit
The following vehicles will also be banned if restrictions are enacted:
  • Oversized loads
  • Tractors without trailers
  • Motorcycles
  • Tow-behind trailers
  • RVs/campers
  • Buses without ATD
  • Box Trucks
