NM DOT Permit Office Closed Wed., 3/13

Storms and damaging winds in New Mexico have resulted in the closure of all state offices, including the DOT permit office, on Wednesday, March 13.

Expect oversize load permit delays today, possibly longer. New Mexico DOT Permit Office Closed Wed., 3/13

A combination of high winds, flash flooding, hail and tornadoes hit the state Tuesday with the bad weather continuing into Wednesday.

The severe thunderstorms are expected to advance eastward today and throughout the rest of the week.

Tens of thousands were without power and some CMVs have been reported in wind-related accidents. New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) is advising against travel if possible until the storm passes. It is best for all oversize loads to stay off state roads and highways.

Thousands were without power in areas of the state with downed power lines also being a factor for unsafe travel.
