The Stephenson County (Illinois) Highway Department will be installing the Spring Weight Limit Posting signs on Stephenson County highways next week. Enforcement of the posted weight limits will begin at 7:00 a.m. on Monday, March 08, 2021. 
During the Spring Weight Limit Posting period, Stephenson County will not be issuing any overweight vehicle permits for transports on county or township roads. Permits will continue to be issued for oversize vehicles, however.
The Highway Commissioners for the individual Townships within Stephenson County also post Spring Weight Limits for the roadways under their jurisdiction. The specific weight limits and posting duration is at the discretion of each Highway Commissioner and does not necessarily correlate with those established for the county roads.
