The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey announced an oversize travel restriction for the George Washington Bridge which starts Friday, July 27 and will continue for an extended period.
No vehicles (trucks) in excess of 13′-6″ high, 10’-0” wide or 69′-0″ long can cross the I-95 George Washington Bridge in either direction and will have to use the I-278 Goethals Bridge or the SR 440 outerbridge crossing.
Over-dimensional vehicles can avoid these length & width restrictions, specifically by remaining on I-95 and exiting in the Bronx.
The New York and New Jersey authority did not specify when the restriction will be lifted, and said it will continue for an extended period.
