Meet Canadian-based WCS Permit Transportation Consultant, Nadawn Fehr who has joined the WCS team to help the company’s Canadian permit division run smoothly. In her new position, Nadawn works with customers to secure Canadian oversize load permits while handling routing, logistics consulting and more.

Nadawn isn’t new to the specialized transport sector. She has nearly 10 years of experience in the industry, including dispatch, project management and in-house oversize and superload permitting for a heavy haul, crane and rigging service based in Calgary, Alberta.
“I always did the big stuff during my career, so I’m ready for anything,” she said. “I am going to continue to learn as well and the more I know, the more I can contribute.”
A Canadian (Alberta) native, Nadawn learned the ins and outs of permitting first by helping loads move through Canada and into Western states, mostly through Ontario which is a major artery into the US. She also gained plenty of experience in the more complex Northeast states.
“It’s always a victory when you can claim success and get the permit in hand, and see when a load gets delivered across country,” she said. “You win when you get a permit and it feels great when you can help a customer and say here you go, especially when they have challenges or feel overwhelmed.”
Nadawn is hard at work to make various impactful changes to WCS: improving the Canadian permit division’s processes, expanding services offered to Canadian customers and building the department’s experience by recruiting more agents with Canadian permitting experience.
Juggling many projects and all the permits that go along, Nadawn feels like an advocate for her WCS customers.
“We solve problems and find solutions for complex loads and projects, and it’s very much a team effort here.”
Nadawn credits her ability to quickly learn and grow in the industry to her strong work ethic and openness to learn.
“I just want to work hard and break into new territory while continuing to do what I love – permitting,” she said. “My goal is always to get our customers moving within a decent time frame.”
Nadawn resides in Alberta with her husband and has 24- and 28-year-old sons.
