WCS assists with freeway on-ramp accident

The Seventh Street on-ramp to the northbound 605 and 405 freeways is closed after a 207,000-pound shaft fell off a big rig damaging the road, guardrail and bridge. WCS assisted with the removal of a toppled big-rig off the 405 & 605

WCS worked with trucking and crane companies to get the truck and shaft to the side of the bridge so a trailer can safely transport the shaft off. Permits are being secured by WCS to move the load via the new hauler sometime next week.

While WCS has been contracted in the recovery effort, the company was not involved in permitting the load which crashed.

The crash was reported at around 4:40 this morning, and also closed the Studebaker Road and Seventh Street connector to the eastbound 22 freeway.

The bridge will be closed indefinitely.
