Rhode Island closed for Victory Day

Rhode Island’s Department of Transportation is closed Monday, August 11 in observance of Victory Day.

This year marks 66 years the state has celebrated and observes the day Japan surrendered at the end of World War II as a legal holiday.

The second Monday of August is represented with flags and memories of veterans.

Rhode Island’s DOT office and permit division will reopen Tuesday, August 12.
