Overweight Restriction on US 550 in New Mexico

An important restriction has been placed on US 550 @ MM 64- 64, located in Cuba, NM. This new indefinite restriction will not allow any overweight loads (80,000 lbs.) to travel over bridge no. 6840. Due to the location of this bridge, loads must find an alternative route for all loads exceeding 80,000 lbs. as there are no local detours.

WCS Permits & Pilot cars can advise on alternative routes during this restriction, including NM 371 or NM 96. Please be mindful of the requirement of additional escorts. Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA/Navajo Nation) routes may be utilized. Please note that BIA currently has an OS/OW ordinance within their jurisdiction and requires to have an issued OS/OW permit for their routes.
