Minnesota Summer Oversize Restrictions

June 11, 2025

Oversize load travel is restricted from 4pm to 8pm on Fridays and Sundays in Minnesota between Memorial Day and Labor Day.

The restriction specifically runs from Friday, May 30 through Sunday, August 24, 2025 with other oversize travel restrictions in place Memorial Day (May 23 – 26) and Labor Day (August 29 – September 1) weekend.

This restriction applies to vehicles exceeding 12 feet 6 inches wide or 110 feet long. Summer travel is not restricted for overweight (only) loads or vehicles, unless noted on the permit.
