The national weather service has issued a high wind warning for the State of Iowa beginning at 12:00pm Wednesday, December 15 until daybreak on Thursday, December 16, which includes oversize/overweight permitted vehicles.
Specifically, oversize/overweight permitted loads will be restricted from traveling effective 12:00pm on December 15 until 30 minutes prior to sunrise on December 16.
Very strong sustained winds speeds of 25 to 40 mph with gusts of 55 to 70 mph are expected. Travel will become extremely difficult in the afternoon and evening, especially for high profile vehicles such as trucks and buses.

Wisconsin Warning Drivers
The Wisconsin DOT is issuing a warning as well for drivers to take caution during these strong winds, but as of now the state DOT does not have an oversize/overweight restrictions in place.
