In Memory of Jojo Francisco

WCS Permits billing clerk and permit writer, Jovito “Jojo” Francisco passed away on April 23 at his home in Pasadena. He was 42 years old.

He is remembered by co-workers and friends for his kindness, eagerness to learn about each of their lives, including children and loved ones, and his passion for sports.

“Jojo was one-of-a kind; he was genuine in how he felt about you,” said WCS co-worker and friend Steve Parker. “He didn’t want to just know you, but wanted to know who you were and about your family.”

His kindness and generosity may have been most apparent during co-worker’s children’s sports and school fundraisers. Jojo was known for buying more than enough raffle tickets, and closely followed their success on the playing field or in school ventures.

The longtime Pasadena resident was born on January 22, 1973 and attended Pasadena City College. In 2002, he married the love of his life, Sheila Francisco. Together the couple enjoyed time with family and friends and adopted a son, Timothy John, also known as “Timmy.”

Jojo and WCS Permits’ President, Wes Mollno, met 20 years ago while Jojo was managing a softball field in Pasadena. Five years later, Jojo began his career in the permit industry and started with WCS. He was the company’s eighth employee and humorously referred to himself as, “employee number eight.”

Beyond hisIn Loving Memory of Jojo Francisco work duties of permit writing and billing, Jojo made the office fun and built a positive work environment for those around him by coordinating office lunches and parties, and sending out special emails on employee’s birthdays. He formed close bonds and talked to everyone about their day, including the employees of WCS’ sister company, Right of Way Inc.

A lifelong sports enthusiast, Jojo was a devoted fan of the Dallas Mavericks, Texas Longhorns and Dallas Cowboys, but followed all L.A. area teams, although he favored the Angels over the Dodgers.

He is survived by his wife, Sheila, their son Timothy, mom Josefina Herrera, and uncle Benjamin Herrera.

A viewing and memorial service is scheduled from 7 – 9 p.m. on Thursday, April 30 at Pasadena Seventh-Day Adventist Church located at 1280 E. Washington Blvd in Pasadena.

The funeral service is scheduled at 9 a.m. on Friday, May 1 at Old North Church, Forest Lawn Memorial Park–Hollywood Hills located at 6300 Forest Lawn Drive in Los Angeles.
