CT Increases Permit Fees

The Connecticut Department of Transportation (DOT) announced an increase in fees related to oversize load permits.

The state’s oversize/overweight vehicle permits’ site has the following posted regarding the “Transmittal Fee” and “Engineering Analysis Fee” increase:

As required by Public Act 22-40, beginning July 1, 2022 the “Transmittal Fee” associated with fee-based permits will be increasing from $5 to $12 per permit and there will be an “Engineering Analysis Fee” applied to all single-trip permits over 200,000lbs.

Permits issued primarily for indivisible loads valid for one trip and return over a three-day period. Weekend travel permits (Saturday and Sunday only between daylight and noon) are available upon request for loads up to 12’ wide, 13’6” high, 80’ long, and 160,000 lbs.

The base permit fee is $30.00 with an additional $12.00 electronic transmittal fee as of July 1, 2022.

The new “Engineering Analysis” fee will be applied to OS/OW Single Trip permits for loads in excess of 200,000 lbs at the cost of $2.00 per each thousand pounds over 200,000 lbs.
