Victoria Day in Canada Oversize Load Restrictions - WCS Permits

Travel Restrictions for Canadian Victoria Day, May 17-20

Victoria Day is a federal Canadian public holiday observed on Monday, May 20, 2024. There are some oversize load travel restrictions in place starting Friday, May 17.

ALBERTA

No travel allowed if over 3.85m wide from 3:00pm on 05/17 and all day 05/19 and 05/20

Normal restrictions apply to Saturday, May 18th.

BRITISH COLUMBIA

No travel allowed if over 31.0m long or 3.80m wide after 3:30 pm on 05/17 – 05/20 based on size. REFER to the attached restrictions in your permit quoting your specific dimensions and area of travel for specific restrictions on your load.

SASKATCHEWAN

Open. No travel allowed if over 3.85m wide, 42m long, or 9m rear effective overhang after 3:00pm on 05/17, after noon on 05/19, and after noon on 05/20  regular restrictions times apply to Saturday travel on 05/18. 

MANITOBA

05/19 & 05/20 If over 3.40m wide on 2‐lane Hwys, 3.70m wide on 4‐lane Hwys, or over 26m long, no travel after 4:00 pm on 05/17 and no travel on 05/20.  

ONTARIO

Under annual dimension: No travel allowed after Noon on 05/20. 

Over annual dimension: No travel allowed after Noon on 05/17 & no travel allowed on 5/20

QUEBEC

No travel allowed on 05/19 and 05/20

NEW BRUNSWICK

No travel after 3:00pm on 05/17 & after noon on 05/18, 05/19 & 05/20 If over 3.65m wide and/or 30m long 

REFER to permits for specific restrictions regarding your load

NEWFOUNDLAND

No travel allowed if over 3.65m wide after 3:00pm on 05/17 until sunrise the 05/21, unless otherwise stated on permit 

NWT and the YUKON

No special travel restrictions 

NOVA SCOTIA

05/19 & 05/20 No travel allowed after noon unless otherwise stated on your permit.

PRINCE EDWARD ISLAND

No special travel restrictions. Daylight Travel  only
