WI: Upcoming OS/OW Travel Interruption in Downtown Milwaukee

WI: Upcoming OS/OW Travel Interruption in Downtown Milwaukee

The Republican National Convention is coming to downtown Milwaukee from July 15-18, 2024 and oversize load carriers are being encouraged to find routes outside Milwaukee county.

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is working to ensure that safety, traffic flow and continued operations are maintained during this scheduled convention.

Oversize-Overweight (OSOW) carriers should consider finding alternative routes outside of Milwaukee County to avoid heavy special event traffic, according to WisDOT.

WisDOT will not be issuing any Single-Trip Permits during this timeframe for travel on the area identified below. All Multiple-Trip Permit holders are asked to avoid travel in the downtown Milwaukee area.
