Since WCS Permits & Pilot Cars opened its doors in 1998, the state of Wyoming typically required permits to be obtained at the port. Wyoming now allows WCS Permits to handle all permitting online.
Aside from rare exceptions, like superload permits, permits had been required to be obtained at the port of entry.
But that changed October 1, 2024, and WCS Permits is ready to help with oversize and overweight load permits, trip & fuel permits, superload permits and transporter permits in the state of Wyoming.
Once the oversize load permit is available, it will include a route to the nearest port as drivers must stop at the first point of entry within 5 miles of entry.
Anyone whose vehicle that has three or more axles and a gross vehicle or registered weight over 26,000 pounds, and is not registered under the International Registration Plan (IRP) in the state of Wyoming needs a trip permit and WCS Permits can help.
All loads which are over legal size or weight limits require an oversize load permit in the state of Wyoming.
More permits that WCS can obtain online in the state include:
Class A Superload – Class A permits are defined as a non-divisible load exceeding 18’ Wide, or 17’ High, or 120’ Length, or 160,000 lbs.
Class B Single Trip – Class B permits are defined as a non-divisible load less than superload dimensions but exceeding legal size or weight.
Class E Single Trip – Class E permits can be obtained for the Commodity Types; Baled Hay/Corn Stalks, Combine Headers, or Forest Products.
Class F Single Trip – Class F permits are overweight permits for specific Commodity Types; Agriculture Products, Forest Products, Gravel, Livestock, or Sugar Beets.
Wyoming was the last state in the country to not allow permit services like WCS to obtain permits on behalf of customers online.
So now you can get the same great service in Wyoming from WCS that you currently receive throughout the US and Canada.
You can also expect overall enhancements and efficiency in the permitting process and full access to oversize restrictions, up-to-date construction, maintenance and other restrictions in Wyoming.
Turnaround times in Wyoming may be unknown due to the newness of the system, but WCS Permit has over 65 agent ready to assist. To apply for a Wyoming oversize/overweight permit, trip & fuel permit or transporter permit, call WCS at 888.737.6483 or contact us.
