The State of Indiana is updating its Oversize/Overweight (OSOW) permitting requirements. Effective July 1, 2026, the Bucket Truck Waiver option (using Form MC-206 / 57116) will no longer be available.
What this means:
- Any OSOW movement requiring a bucket truck (e.g., exceeding 15 feet in height off interstate routes) must now include a pre-qualified signal contractor with bucket truck.
- Waiver requests for bucket truck use will no longer be accepted.
- Requests submitted with waiver affidavits will be rejected.
- Carriers must fully comply with standard escort and bucket truck requirements.
Guidance for Carriers:
- Plan ahead: Review your loads and routes to determine applicable bucket truck requirements.
- Amend processes: Update your permitting workflows—waiver options must be removed.
- Stay compliant: Ensure qualified bucket truck escort services are in place for affected movements.
