The Rock: After the Dust Settles

Sunday marked the opening day of Michael Heizer’s “Levitated Mass” exhibit at LACMA, and what seemed to be the end of the road for some.

While the exhibit will continue to attract tourists and media from all over, the journey WCS Permits, its sister company, Right of Way Inc., and several other companies and government agencies embarked on to see this project through came to a halt.

For over two years, permits were obtained, routes and streets were surveyed, road closures were negotiated and the move of the 340-ton buy naltrexone online boulder, which had loaded dimensions of 21-feet, 10-inches tall, 30-feet, 6-inches wide, and 275-feet long was made possible.

WCS and Right of Way worked closely with the carrier, Emmert International obtaining various permits so the load could safely begin and end its 105-mile, 11-night journey from Riverside County to LACMA.

The load only traveled at night at slow speeds of 7 mph or less.

Opening Day at the LACMA exhibit marked new beginnings, but a successfully completed project as well.
