I-95/I-695 Interchange Temporary Closures

The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration will implement overnight ramp and lane closures within the I-95/I-695 (Baltimore Beltway) interchange in the Arbutus area of Baltimore County from Sunday, June 4, through Friday, June 9 that may affect oversize load travel. The closures are required as part of the ongoing rehabilitation project for 10 bridges within the interchange.

I-95/I-695 Interchange Temporary Closures - WCS Permits & Pilot Cars

The interstate bridge preservation project will allow contractors to install Latex Modified Concrete Overlays on the decks (riding surfaces) of ten (10) bridges, commonly traveled by trucks and used for oversize load routing, within the I-95 / I-695 (Baltimore Beltway) Interchange in southwestern Baltimore County, just south of Baltimore City. 

1. Ramp from I-695 Outer Loop to I-95 North, crossing I-695

2. Ramp from I-695 Outer Loop to I-95 North, crossing Ramp from I-95 South to I-695 Outer Loop 

3. I-95 North crossing I-695 Ramp from I-695 Outer Loop to I-95 North, and crossing Ramp from I-95 South to I-695 Outer Loop) 

4. I-95 South crossing Ramp from I-95 North to I-695 Inner Loop 

5. I-95 South crossing I-695 

6. I-95 South crossing over Ramp from I-695 Outer Loop to I-95 North

7. Ramp from I-95 South to I-695 Outer Loop, crossing I-695 

8. I-95 North crossing I-695

9. I-95 North and Ramp from I-95 North to I-695 Outer Loop) crossing Sulphur Spring Road

10. I-95 South and Ramp from I-695 Outer Loop to I-95 South, crossing Sulphur Spring Road.

The project also includes the replacement of concrete traffic barriers and parapets on the bridges.  

The project is expected to be complete in Summer 2025.
