Hurricane Sandy affects East Coast trucking

Hurricane Sandy is headed for landfall today on the East Coast.

Over 15 states, including Ohio and New York will have changes to their regular transportation routine today and into the week depending on storm aftermath such as flooding and down trees.

Roads, highways and expressways already have storm-related closures, according to the New York State Department of Transportation, some even manned with police roadblocks.

State’s DOT offices will continue to post and receive updates on storm closures and restrictions. Some DOT offices will publish live storm and closure updates on their website.

WCS is working closely with DOT offices to keep informed of the closures. Follow WCS on Twitter, @wcspermits, for frequent updates.
