Florida, South Carolina, North Carolina and Georgia have emergency waivers for CMVs transporting essential goods or products for emergency relief.
In Florida, the governor’s order includes 46 counties.
North Carolina and Georgia have declared a statewide emergency and have issued a temporary waiver and suspension of motor vehicle regulations.
Section 6 of the North Carolina declaration includes information on oversize load restrictions and exemptions.
Georgia’s executive order suspends hours of service limitations of all commercial vehicles to ensure the supply of good and services.
In South Carolina, a special storm relief permit allows anyone hauling essential goods and products in response to Hurricane Idalia, and does not exceed 12′ wide, to be exempt from applying for an oversize load permit.
