Thanksgiving or Thanksgiving Day, is an annual Canadian holiday held on the second Monday in October.
This year Thanksgiving will be celebrated on Monday, October 14 in Canada and some oversize load restrictions will be in place in some provinces.
Alberta
No travel allowed if over 3.85m wide from 3 pm on 10/11 and all day 10/13 and 10/14. Normal restrictions apply to Saturday, October, 12th.
British Columbia
No travel allowed if over 31.0m long or 3.80m wide after 3:30 pm on 10/11 – 10/14 based on size. Refer to the attached restrictions in your permit quoting your specific dimensions and area of travel for specific restrictions on your load.
Saskatchewan
No travel allowed if over 3.85m wide, 42m long, or 9m rear effective overhang after 3 pm on 10/11, after 12 noon on 10/13, and after noon on 10/14. Regular restrictions times apply to Saturday travel on 10/12.
Manitoba
10/13 & 10/14: If over 3.40m wide on 2‐lane Highways, 3.70m wide on 4‐lane Highways, or over 26m long, no travel after 4 pm on 10/11 and no travel on 10/14.
Ontario
Under annual dimension: No travel allowed after Noon on 10/14.
Over annual dimension: No travel allowed after Noon on 10/11 & no travel allowed on 10/14.
Quebec
No travel allowed on 10/13 and 10/14.
New Brunswick
No travel after 3 pm on 10/11 & after noon on 10/12-10/14 If over 3.65m wide and/or 30m long. Refer to permits for specific restrictions regarding your oversize load.
Newfoundland
No travel allowed if over 3.65m wide after 3 pm on 10/11 until sunrise on 10/15, unless otherwise stated on permit.
NWT and the Yukon
No special oversize travel restrictions.
Nova Scotia
10/13 & 10/14: No travel allowed after noon unless otherwise stated on your permit.
Prince Edward Island
No special oversize travel restrictions. Daylight travel only.
