Thanksgiving weekend DOT permit office closures and holiday oversize load travel restrictions are published and live on the WCS Permits’ holiday closure page.
All states are closed on Thursday, November 23 in observance of the holiday, while some are also closed Friday, November 24.
Most oversize travel restrictions begin on Thanksgiving Day and extend through the weekend as the highways and roads are expected to be heavier for the holiday weekend.
The state of Wisconsin has holiday closures not only for Thanksgiving, but also for Deer hunting season where travel is not allowed from 12 p.m. on Saturday, November 25 until sunrise on Monday, November 27.
