The Minnesota Department of Transportation released the ending date for Winter load increases and the starting date for Spring load restrictions in the North-Central and North frost zones.
Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at 12:01 a.m. is the ending date for Winter load increases, as well as the starting date for Spring load restrictions in the North-Central frost zone.
Thursday, March 22 at 12:01 a.m. is the start date for Spring load restrictions in the North frost zone, while Winter load increases have ended and Spring load restrictions have begun in all other frost zones.
Weight restricted routes are outlined on the MnDOT seasonal load limit website.
Overweight Permits
Oversize load permits for over 80,000-pounds will continue and new permits will be issued if axle and group weights are legal.
- Up to full-summer overweight permits can be issued as well during the Spring load restriction period only on interstate through movements.
- Middle-range overweight permits become available within each frost zone when Spring load restrictions are lifted.
- Full-summer overweight permits become available within each frost zone starting two to three weeks after Spring load restrictions are lifted.
