Effective Wednesday, May 17 at 12:01 a.m., Spring Load Restrictions in the North Frost Zone in Minnesota will be lifted. 
Spring Load Restrictions have already ended in the other frost zones.
The Minnesota Department of Transportation has published road restriction maps indicating the locations of weight restricted routes and those state highways open to maximum ten-ton axle weights on their website, www.mndot.gov/loadlimits, click on “Spring Load Restrictions.” The site also has restricted segments along with exceptions to the map listed.
Things to note regarding OVERWEIGHT PERMITS
- Middle-range overweight permits become available within each frost zone when Spring Load Restrictions are lifted.
- Full-summer overweight permits become available within each frost zone starting two to three weeks after Spring Load Restrictions are lifted.
